Evaluation Finished
I have now finished my evaluation, my evaluation consists of a full 15 min. I used camtasia to record my video along with a external recording device to record my voice. The process was long and took a lot of detail and hard work, I feel I have answered the questions fully and as best as I could have.
Video Finished
After months of hard work of shooting, brainstorming and editing I have finally finished my music video. The process proved to be challenging especially in the editing process however once finally getting used to the controls and techniques, the process of editing became easier.
Editing Progress
I have nearly finished editing my music video, after completing and re-shooting all the shots I needed to do. I have spent time making sure the lip synching in my video matches the song and is in time with the song, this is now complete.
I have now selected and added the effects and filters I want in my music video along with changing the speed in certain clips to help the video flow and create a powerful effect. The filter I used in every scene of my video was "cool tones".
another effect I used was the "earthquake" effect as i felt it created a bigger impact during the chorus scenes. I have also spent time on the different transitions from scene to scene, selecting the cross fade transition.

Evaluation Questions
Evaluation Questions
Here are the list of questions I will be answering for my evaluation
1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
2. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
3. What have you learned from your audience feedback?
4. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
Evaluation Plan
For My evaluation I will create a video answering every question of my evaluation recording each presentation on my computer using Camtasia. I will then form it all into one video including screen shots, clips of other artists music videos and clips of my own music video. This process will provide a creative and an analytical approach to my evaluation.

Poster Finished
I have now finished my poster using Indesign. Overall it was fairly easy for me to complete as I am now used to all the functions and features the program has to offer after creating my digipak.
My poster keeps in theme of my digipak as the same colours and design is used
Here is my final poster:

Poster - Plan
Now that I have finished my digipak I have now started brainstorming my posterfor my song.
The poster will be in a poster form and will have to keep in theme of my digipak. This means it cannot be a over the top poster or a stereotypical poster. The poster will have to be minimalistic and feature dark gloomy imagery. The colour scheme I am looking for will be navy blue, dark grey, silver and white.
Digipak Finished
Today I have finished my digipak using Indesign. I have kept to my design plan of going with nature shots and keeping a dark tone using dark "cold" colours.
Front:
Inside:
Back:
I have included lyrics of my song inside the digipak and have used shots that resinate with my artist and his song. The shots of empty fields and woods represent the lonliness and the feeling of being lost in such a big world. The dark skies show the mood of the song and album and symbolise the bad things that have happened and what my artist is going through.

Digipak - Creation Process
I am currently designing my digipak for my artists album: Dark Twisted Fantasy, The program I am using is called InDesign.
The creation process involved creating the front cover, four inside pages and a back cover. When creating I had to keep in the theme of my music video because I felt that a consistent, almost dark, theme to my digipak would be best as looking at other artists every album has a theme, therefore all styles and music videos go along with that said theme.
The Digipak is almost done as I only need to finish two more pages
I felt that going with a dark theme I needed to implement "cold" colours into my digipak. This is because the these cold colours would help bring life to my album and make it stand out rather than having a plain black and grey album. I feel the navy blue represents the sadness of the album with the grey writing complementing this theme.
The imagery in the background such as the empty field and woods, I feel is very powerful and really cements what the song is all about , being lost and alone. The filters used helps with the darkness of the album and song, amplifying the mood.

Website
Websites
I have now created the website for my artist. I have used inspiration from other artists and have used features that I collected during my research.
Here I have implemented designs that have been inspired by artists such as Bon Iver as seen in my research. I feel it makes links to my music video also keeping a constant theme.
My website:
Here I keep to the nature shot theme whilst advertising new music, upcoming music, list of albums and most popular singles. This has been inspired by artists such as R.Kelly and Beyonce.
Here I have listed my artists tour information such as the dates and location. This has come from researching other artists websites such as Kanye West
Here I have provided contact information for bookings and a fan mail account used for interacting with fans. This was inspired by artists such as R.Kelly and Justin Timberlake.

Digipak Decision
I have decided to go with Digipak idea2 as I feel it will help my theme of challenging the sterotypical conventions of my genre and help emphasise the theme of being lost and alone in both my song and video.
I will be using Indesign for creating my digipak.

Digipak Idea 2
Another idea I have for my digipak is to go with a minimalist approach and show my theme and mood through shots of nature. I feel this will help my artist stand out and it will help challenge the stereotypical conventions of his genre.
This has been done by some other artists before, such as John Legend, Lil Wayne and Kid Cudi. This is where I have got my inspiration from.

Digipak idea
My artist is different as his music blends the likes of hip hop, pop, RnB, ect. so I have to approach this in a way that wouldn't be stereotypical to any type of genre, my artist has to stand out. Therefore the idea will be somewhat of the same to other artists however the execution will be different.
An example of what a stereotypical pop music digipak would be this:
Hip Hop:
However I feel my aritst needs to do something different but still be featured on the front cover. I want to keep to the sad element of my song and create a dark album. Im looking for an unconventional way of being on the front cover.
An example of what I am looking for:
The album cover is simple yet effective. It showcases what type of theme the album is going for and shows the artist posing in a non stereotypical way of its genre.

Editing Progress - Special Effects
I have made more progress on editing my music video as i have added special effects to some scenes and have altered the speed of some clips to go with the song.
A lot of my nature shots have special effects due to the fact that they don't have much going on in them, they are more of a representational scene to go along with the overall tone and theme of the song. I feel this makes my music video even more interesting as the effects bring a type of life to the otherwise lifeless scenes however also match tone of the song.
Mirror effect:
Underwater effect:
Choosing which effect to go with the scenes proved to be difficult as there were so many that were similar to what I wanted. The effects in some scenes are not as noticeable as others. I feel this is a good thing as in most music videos the effects and filters aren't really obvious, this matches my music video and provides the subtle details the video needs to pull off the overall mood of the video.
Before effects:
After effects:
I have also adjusted the speed of certain clips as i feel it adds to the dramatic moment of the video and it also matches up to where the music takes a dramatic turn also.

Extra Filming
Whilst editing my music video I realised that I needed to film a little more. This is due to either it not being exactly what I wanted or clips not looking as good as they should be due to camera movement. I will be filming these extra clips in a 4 days time on the weekend.
I found that I also needed more options when filming such as the same clip but in a different angle and therefore I will need to be filming these also. This should be my final time filming as most of my clips are already on the computer and I will have two days to film the extra scenes on the weekend giving me more than enough time.

Editing Progress
During my second session editing I have made more progress. I have been focusing more on the harder parts of editing my music video first and that is cutting the clips down and positioning them in the correct time of the video to match the beat. I have successfully completed some of these. I have also managed to add in the title screen into the video, the title screen will be towards the end of the music video rather than conventionally at the beginning.

Start Of Editing
I have just started to edit my music video now, having imported all my clips onto the computer. The program I am using to edit my music video is Final Cut Pro X, it is a different program I used last year as this is more updated and provides features such as multicam, templates and an autosave function. during this editing session I got to grips with the new features and functions and have successfully completed the intro to my music video as seen below.
