Conventions such as dark colours, money, girls, cars and violence that is often coupled with the Hip-Hop and Rap music genre is present in this digipak, quite the opposite. On the front of the Digipak is a plain grey background with a paper heart on it. This connotes a lonely heart which relates to the title of the album with the word 'Heartbreaks'. As well as this on the cover, the left side has colours striped down the side, which is a reoccurring theme throughout the Digipak.
The Digipak folds out into three panels with the lest side holding the disc, the middle being decorative and the right side holds a bonus feature booklet that has lyrics and special mentions. The colour scheme that was hinted on the front of the digipak is now shown to be coming from a picture of kanye standing alone, with the colours coming form the paper heart (Same as the one of the cover of the digipak) placed on his chest. The same colour background is used throughout the digipak and it all contradicts the often thought codes and conventions of the Hip-Hop/Rap genre. It gives the digipak a melancholy tone, which is most probably reflective of the music on the album.
The CD itself is very similar to the cover of the digipak, with the colour scheme and imagery of the paper heart being repeated. It also has product information written with in one of the coloured stripes which includes Artist name(s) and legel notices. As for the back of the digipak, this is the most conventional part of this digipak. The track list, legal info, product info, record label logo and barcode are all included.
As he stands on the left, there is a trail of colourful lines leaving his heart. This may signify many things including:
- The tracks on this album has come deep from his heart.
- His heart is bleeding out, and this album is trying to tell the audience of his sadness without him publically revealing.
- His heart is revitalised and he feels happy due to all the bright colours.
- The sound deep from his heart travels far from himself to his fans.
