The basic camera shots used in a music video are as followed:
- close up
- tracking shot
- long shot
- establishing shot
- extreme close up (for lip syncing)
Camera movement in music videos can depend on the pace of the music and the type of genre the song fits into. typically a lot of pop and hip hop music videos have fast paced camera movement as many of the songs made in those genres are typically fast paced and loud and are normally used in night clubs.

- fast overhead crane shots
